The Plow...

came down our street in the early hours of the morning disturbing DH's sleep. I slept through it, but somewhere within those wee hours of the morn, I tossed a the top quilt off my side of the bed; I was too hot. Yes, the weather is indeed changing. When I got out of bed at 6:30 the thermometer read 41 degrees. Maybe, just maybe, I will be able to run by Monday. Although I would probably still be dodging puddles. More than the weather is changing at our house. On Monday, after seven months of being laid off, my DH is going to start a new job. He will be in training as a Metro bus driver! It is quite the change for a middle aged man who for 20+ years sat at a desk designing advertising. When his job at Macys ended he said that he wanted something totally different and he didn't want to sit in front of a computer screen anymore and he was completely fed up with retail jobs. He even suggested bus driver as an option way back in June but Honey Girl and I frowned and said "Oh no, too risky, too many characters with issues, besides your bladder is SO small, you'll have to wear a BROWN uniform" and on and on we groaned. But now here he is all signed up and after next week he will be 'road worthy'(and we are so aware of how lucky he is on his timing; missing the BIG snow and all). Of all the New Years we have started together this one has to 'take the cake' for being a new beginning! And now I am off to spinning class at the Y.

WOW.. Our lives "look" a lot alike sometimes!! Maybe it is just our generation.
My Morris started a new job in October after so many years in Sales he is now working for University of Phoenix counseling Military students and sitting behind a desk everyday when he was always "on the road" our whole married life... It is a Big Change, but a great change for him. He loves it. He even decided to go back for his MBA since they will pay for it!
Man when you get to be our age you think things will be all figured out...not true these days. We say a prayer every morning to thank the good Lord for our jobs.
May this New Year bring you much Happiness!
Fondly, Barbara

We're sure this "new beginning" will be a wonderful change for Chris.
We wish him well. Many things turn out for the best.

That is a change! Good luck with everything, and I'll stay tuned to see how everything goes! Let's hope for nice bus riders and strong bladders!
